The year 2018 has been a relatively quiet year for the Foundation. We attended the November 2018 Omani trade and fact finding mission on the Energy Transition, hosted by the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO). A group of Omani professionals visited The Netherlands to exchange thoughts. SNOF's Peter van Ees visited the reception and participated in a meeting at TNO in Delft.
On 5 March 2017, a Letter of Intent (LoI) was signed in Muscat, Oman on water scarcity management. The German University of Technology in Oman (GuTech), the Dutch University for Agriculture in Wageningen and our foundation have agreed to start a research project with regard to harvesting rain water and preventing flash floodings at the same time.
We will invite Dutch and Omani corporations to endorse this great and cost effective project, to raise awareness for it and to market its benefits to a broader audience.
In 2016, the foundation was involved in one project: a survey concerning possible marketing improvements regarding Dutch tourism to Oman. The survey is part of Omani student Majid al Lawati's graduation thesis for Hogeschool Rotterdam.
After successfully producing a film documentary in 2013 about a VOC shipwreck, the foundation finished another project in 2014, with a focus of documenting both our nations' common business history.
This project further cements the excellent relationship between our two nations.
